The Blind Slacker
God never said we wouldn’t have problems. If he did, we can rest assured we’d all be living in paradise. But He didn’t say that. In fact, most everyone we meet in the bible has a problem or adversity to contend with. Noah had to build an ark for a flood no one else foresaw. (Gen 6:13-14) Joseph was sold into slavery by his own brothers who plotted to kill him. (Gen. 37:20-28). Tamar (Gen. 38:6-27) had two husbands (who were brothers, by the way) whom God killed because they were wicked in His eyes. She then had to trick Judah, her father-in-law, into sleeping with her if she were to have children since he reneged on his duty to marry her off to his third son. Ewww... (And that's just the book of Genesis.)
